Henderson County AARP Foundation Taxaide gets the job done!

FIND A VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY THAT WORKS YOUR MIND AND WARMS YOUR HEART

Looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity that makes the most of your talents? Volunteer for AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, one of the most effective grassroots volunteer programs in the nation.

You'll be helping low to middle income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older, prepare and file their taxes. There are more than 5000 sites nationwide, and we have two in Henderson County (one in Hendersonville, and one in Mills River). Locally we prepare between 3000 and 3500 federal returns a year (and slightly fewer state returns). All of our services are provided totally free.

If you're good with numbers and good with people, you're our kind of volunteer! Experience isn't necessary, just a desire to help, and the ability to use a computer. We'll train you on the latest tax preparation, forms, and software. You'll work directly with taxpayers, helping them prepare their tax returns. Volunteers usually work one or two 4 hour shifts per week during the tax season. So, work your mind and warm your heart – join the AARP Foundation TaxAide program.
